The first project for 2014

The Maus kit from Dragon has been in my stash for more than 10 years. It's been a test model for painting and practising in new techniques. I decide to give it more attention and built this monster in it's training version with the concrete tower.

I must  add the bottles for the CO2 extinguishing system and it is ready for painting

Happy new year
My first built for 2014 is a command version of panzer I  from Masterbox with minor improvements with wire and lead foil.  Markings from the French Campaign and crew came from Bronco with Verlinden heads(old stock).Painted in enamels with acrylic base.
I create  a small base with some foliage  pigments and dirt added.
. The whole project was a pleasure and I enjoy the hours spend in this little tank.

Sea is almost ready. Poured 8 litres of clear polyester tinted with colors for glass and enamels
(the whole proccess take time in my backyard because polyester demands a very well ventilated area wearing a mask)

Forming small waves with acrylic clear gel paste(for canvas painting) and give them form with a small spatula
Some more waves needed and sea is ready

The concept of this diorama is an august  day in preparation for the next mission.
So a fishing boat is a must.
The construction started with the hull created  in thick plastic sheet and filled with foam board and elastic acrylic plaster.

It smoothed with sand paper and then deck added and details constructed from cardboard and plastic  sheet. The mast is a balsa rod and railings added.

Painted in acrylics with extensive use of the hairspray technique
